Cleveland Newborn Photographer | Baby Ellie

Another photographer mama in the studio a few weeks ago! This time it’s Beth from Hello Photos! in Cleveland! Beth knew she wanted this time captured and even though she’s a photographer herself, didn’t want the stress and worry of trying to do newborn photos of her own baby. I’m SO glad she chose me because it was so fun getting a chance to visit and talk “shop” with her while I worked with baby Ellie. She was a dream baby!!!! I loved snuggling her and watching her parents ooh and ahh over her adorableness! I always like to get to know my clients a bit better, so I did a little interview with Beth! See her answers below to get know this sweet new family!

What kinds of things make your family special?

We love adventure and love to travel. We met when he sat next to me on an airplane so it’s kind of our thing! We are now excited to travel with little Ellie and show her the world.

What is your favorite activity to do as a family?

We love to be just at home together, but traveling! Ellie’s first trip is this weekend, when she’s a month old.

How did you feel when you first found out you were going to be a mama?

Scared to death! It’s such a huge, life altering change. Even though we were trying for months, once I actually got the positive, it became real – I froze with fear. I cried. My husband laughed at me and said “wasn’t this the goal?” It’s true when they say you’re never really ready. The entire time I was pregnant, it never felt real, I kept thinking something would go wrong, how did I feel so good during pregnancy? Where was my morning sickness? – I was cautiously optimistic, excited but scared the entire time… I braced myself at every ultrasound, just in case. The fear never went away, but the excitement soon outweighed it. It’s also true when they say that you never stop worrying about your children. I’m sure I’ll worry about her forever.

How did you share the news with your husband?

I walked up to him with a positive test and said “I think I’m having your Bean”

What was his reaction?

Underwhelming, haha. We both were just smacked in the face with reality.

What is your favorite thing about being a mom?

Hands down, watching my husband be a dad. I didn’t think I could love him more than I already did.

What feature of your baby is your favorite and why?

Her sweet little nose and her tiny, perfect, baby feet! Confession: I hate feet, they gross me out. I won’t let my husband put his feet anywhere near me. I always said I wouldn’t even like my baby’s feet… That was a lie. I kiss her feet every day!

What did it feel like watching your baby during their newborn photoshoot?

Amazing. I was so proud that I made this little, beautiful human. I felt so grateful to have you capture these moments.

Anything else you’d like to share?

We were never the type of people who were dying to have children – we would have been totally fine if we didn’t. We have no experience with babies, and we aren’t “kid people”. We were scared to become parents but instinct is real and there is no love like this love. We are obsessed with her and she’s the best thing we’ve ever done.
