Oh this little cutie! I love me some eyes open portraits too, don’t you? Before I had Olive, I thought I knew what images parents wanted. Then I had my own baby and everything changed. My absolute favorite photos from her newborn session were the ones I call “Baby Mug Shots” on a simple white background and hopefully their eyes open. Seeing all of their expressions and capturing those moments in time takes me right back to her newborn days. Only parents truly know all the faces and expressions their baby makes. And even though the sleepy, perfectly poses images are absolutely breathtaking too, there’s something to be said for the “personality” shots that really let your baby’s unique features shine.
My other favorite images from my own daughter’s newborn session was our First Family Portrait. Being in the photos was so important to me. I knew I wanted to remember how tiny she was, how smitten with her we were. So I always take the extra time to get multiple setups of parents and their new little love. It’s important.
I also photographed his parent’s maternity photos which you can view on my blog as well! If you are looking to plan a Cleveland newborn photography session, contact me for more information.
