Maternity portraits have truly turned into a passion for me. I’ve always loved them, but now, they mean much more. It’s more than a photo. It’s the chance to make a woman feel beautiful and empowered. A chance to help her see how others see her, and not how she sees herself in the mirror. I know how unforgiving we our to ourselves, especially when our bodies are going through some serious changes! I love when mamas leave with HUGE smiles on their faces, excited to see the art we created. I am so thankful that I get to do this every day.

Alexandra was such a joy to photograph and I’m seriously so in love with her images that I had to blog about them! She was kind enough to also say some words about her pregnancy and experience. I asked her a few questions:

What kinds of things make your family special?

Definitely our togetherness, love and laughter.

What is your favorite activity to do as a family?

Our favorite activity to do is travel the world!

How did you feel when you first found out you were pregnant?

I was overjoyed, I couldn’t believe it! I kept taking tests and they were all positive!

How did you share the news with your husband?

As soon as he came home from work that day I ran to him and showed him the pregnancy test. 

What was his reaction?

He was so excited and we had a special moment. 

What has been your favorite thing about pregnancy?

My favorite thing about pregnancy is my growing tummy and changing body. It’s such a blessing being able to carry a child and feel it grow inside of you. I tried my best to embrace all of the changes. It is really indescribable and just so amazing. My other favorite thing was finding out the gender. That was the best day!

 Did you have any reservations about doing a maternity photoshoot?I had zero reservations – I was so excited to finally be doing a maternity photoshoot! How did you feel during the session and upon receiving the images?

I felt very comfortable and relaxed during the session and I was completely delighted upon receiving the images – loved every one!

Anything else you’d like to share?

I just want to say how warm Amanda is and how comfortable she made us feel. She is an amazing photographer with a kind, beautiful spirit. We had so much fun in our session because of her! And now, please enjoy some of my favorites from her session!
