Maternity Session – Frequently Asked Questions
HOW MANY WEEKS IS IDEAL FOR A MATERNITY SESSION?
Maternity sessions are typically done between 29 and 36 weeks. The timing is different for everyone and we recommend that you don’t wait too late because you will never know when the baby will actually come.
HOW SOON SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY SESSION?
It’s never too early to schedule your maternity session. Sometimes I can accommodate last minute requests, but I recommend a 4-6 week notice.
WHERE IS YOUR STUDIO LOCATED?
My studio is conveniently located in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
DOES TIME OF THE DAY MATTER WHEN SCHEDULING A STUDIO MATERNITY SHOOT?
For in studio, no. I use professional lighting equipment so the time of the day does not matter.
For outdoor – yes. I shoot outdoor maternity sessions about 1 hour prior to sunset.
DO YOU PROVIDE DRESSES/FABRICS/WRAPS?
Yes. Our studio provides a full wardrobe that includes an exquisite selection of beautiful sheer silks and other fabrics for draping as well as stunning gowns and lace robes.
CAN MY PARTNER OR MY CHILD BE IN THE PICTURES?
Absolutely! The father of your child is welcome and encouraged to join. If you are bringing your child or children, please bring someone to help keep them occupied.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR THE SESSION?
Try not to wear tight underwear and clothing on the day of the session to prevent marks on your skin.
Get a manicure and a pedicure a day or two in advance.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR MY MATERNITY SESSION?
After you book your maternity session, we will send our Welcome Guide so that you can have an idea of what you may bring. We are a full service studio, so you don’t need to worry about bringing many clothing options. If the majority of images you are looking to do are artistic nudes, we recommend bringing less clothes.

- Form fitting dresses
- Flowy maxi dresses
- Statement necklaces
DO I HAVE TO BE NUDE?
Not at all. All of our maternity sessions are customized and tailored to the wants and needs of each client. Some clients prefer clean and simple artistic nude photographs and wraps, while others prefer to be fully clothed.
SHOULD I BE CONCERNED ABOUT EXTRA WEIGHT (CHIN, ARMS, THIGHS) AND STRETCH MARKS?
I want you to feel beautiful and relaxed during your photography experience as well as to treasure your final images. Complete professional retouching is included in your session and you don’t have to worry about any imperfections such as blemishes, stretch marks and certain body contours. We specialize in the most comprehensive and detailed editing and will enhance and transform the image into a stunning work of art.
THIS IS MY FIRST STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY EXPERIENCE. WILL YOU GUIDE ME AND HELP ME POSE?
You are in good hands! Even if it is your first professional photography experience, my goal is to make sure you feel comfortable, relaxed, beautiful and empowered, pampered and confident. During your personalized photo shoot, I will guide you through elegant poses and will focus on angles that bring out your most beautiful self. As a female myself, I know how to make you look your best and most flattering.
I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE SIMILAR IMAGES/POSES THAT I SAW IN YOUR PORTFOLIO. CAN WE DO THAT?
Sure. You can pick your favorite lighting/backdrop set ups and poses from our portfolio and you are welcome to bring your own ideas as well.
WHAT IS THE TURNAROUND TIME?

CAN I PURCHASE AN ALBUM FROM YOU?
Absolutely. I offer stunning heirloom albums. I will personally design the album layout for you.
WILL MY IMAGES STAY PRIVATE?
Privacy is taken seriously and your maternity images will not be used in any way without your consent.
